How To Import In To TaxAct?

If you are filing your taxes using TaxAct, you can download a TaxAct specific file, and import it in to TaxAct following the steps below. 

To download your file from Bitcoin.tax


1- Go to Reports and Export tab (1), and click the Download button (2)

2- Click TaxAct (3), and take note of where the file downloads

To import your file in TaxAct

1-Log in to your TaxAct account (you may need to enter some general information to get to the screen below)

2- Click Federal (4) on the left side, and press the down arrow to expand Investment Income (5)


3- Click the down arrow to expand Gain or loss on the sale of investments (6)


4- Choose Stock data import (7)


5- Click CSV import (8)


6- Click the Choose File button (9) and select the file you downloaded earlier in these steps

7- Click Continue (10)


8- Double check the headers of each column, and click Continue (11)


9- Use the check boxes on the left to choose the records you want to import. Please note TaxAct only allows for 2000 records to be imported. 

10- Click Continue (12)


11- Double check the records you selected to import, and click Import (13)

That is it, you have now successfully imported your crypto information.
