How To Import In To H&R Block (Desktop Version)

If you are filing your taxes using H&R Block, you can download a TXF file, and import it in to H&R Block following the steps below. 

To download your file from Bitcoin.tax


1- Go to Reports and Export tab (1), and click the Download button (2)

2- Click TXF File (3), and take note of where the file downloads

To import your file in H&R Block

If you are creating a new return

1-Open the H&R Block program

2- Click the Start A Return (4) button

3- Make your personal selections until you see the screen below

4- Select Yes (5), and then click Next


5- Choose Other program that supports Tax Exchange Format (TXF) (6), and then click Next

6- Click the Import button at the bottom

7- Click Browse (7)


8- Select the TXF file (8) you downloaded earlier, yours may be named different, so make sure you are using the correct one.

9- Click the Import Selected File button

10- Check the boxes (9) next to the trades you want to import. In most cases you will want to keep them all selected.

11- Click Import (10)

That is it, you have now successfully imported your crypto information. 

If you have already started your return


1- Click on File (11) in the top right

2- Choose Import Financial Information (12), then follow the steps above starting at Step 7
